AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING HUMANITARIAN AID TO REMEMBER THE CHILDREN FOUNDATION PORT-AU-PRINCE, HAITI Whereas, From time to time, emergency vehicles and equipment used by the City of Chicago become outdated and obsolete and are replaced; and Whereas, Such vehicles and equipment may nonetheless have useful service left in them, and could be of great use and value to another entity; and Whereas, The City of Chicago's Department of Fleet Management from time to time has in its possession ambulances that, while no longer of use to the City, could be of substantial use elsewhere; and Whereas, Remember the Children Foundation of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti is in need of humanitarian aid; now therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO: Section 1. The Commissioner of Fleet Management is hereby authorized to donate two (2) obsolete ambulances no longer useful to the City of Chicagbr-as such ambulances may become available, to Remember the Children Foundation of Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, or its designee, free and clear of any liens or encumbrances. The City shall convey said ambulances in "as is" condition without any warranties either expressed or implied and expressly excludes any warranty of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Section 2. The Commissioner of Fleet Management is hereby authorized to enter into and execute such other documents, as may be necessary and proper to implement this donation. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
