Historical landmark designation for Mars Candy Factory at 2019 N Oak Park Ave
Built in 1928-29 during Mars, Inc.'s move from Minneapolis to Chicago, the Mars Candy Factory, now a Chicago Landmark, facilitated efficient candy production and distribution. The factory, associated with founders Frank C. Mars and Forrest E. Mars, Sr., and designed in Spanish Revival style by The Austin Company and C.F. Murphy, spurred local development. On July 11, 2024, a plaque was installed to mark its landmark status.
