Call for hearing(s) on missing women in City of Chicago
Mayor Johnson and the City Council called on the Committee on Public Safety to hold a hearing on the crisis, inviting experts including Trina Reynolds-Tyler and Sarah Conway. This follows the 2023 convening of the Illinois Task Force and the Mayor's Task Force, addressing the disproportionate victimization of Black women and girls in crime and missing person cases, as highlighted by Dorothy Tucker and the Invisible Institute and City Bureau report.
